Netcat selected as part of NSW Government efficiency program

The Netcat Web Content Management (WCM) software has been selected as a specialist WCM provider solution on the NSW Government Information and Asset Management Systems (IAMS) Panel Contract 2602. The initial contract under which NSW Government Agencies must purchase the nominated solutions runs to 31 May 2011 after which there are 2 one-year extensions.

IAMS 2602 is a component of the Government Selected Application Systems (GSAS) Program, first launched in 1994 as part of a core strategy within the NSW Government to establish preferred software vendors for corporate applications.

The objective of the Contracts is to reduce the costs to Government associated with the procurement, development, implementation and operation of those application packages. It was intended that a small range of packaged software vendors would be selected to meet the needs of all NSW Government agencies. Therefore inclusion on this panel has the potential to generate wider use of the Netcat WCM solution in NSW Government at a time when there is real concern in the market about economic conditions and lack of growth opportunities for Australian companies.

The IAMS strategy addresses the requirements of all NSW Government Agencies both large and small, as well as the disparate complexity of their information management needs. It recognises that agencies have different requirements in relation to the maturity of their information management assets. These needs are represented by way of a maturity model ranging from basic requirements to complex requirements.

Netcat sees their selection on the 2602 Panel Contract as validation of their commitment and successes over the past 10 years with government agencies in all Australian jurisdictions. This acknowledgement of Netcat’s capability reinforces their winning of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) iAward for best software in the eGovernment category in 2007 and aligns with two recent Federal Government agency win announcements.
