Prerequisites:

MS desktop skills
Netcat Publisher training

Students will study:

Managing users and user groups
Setting up page security
Managing forms, FAQ’s, events, subscriptions and RSS channels
Managing workflow
Viewing audit logs
Manually restarting projects and synchronisation
Manually updating search indexes
Creating mini-sites

Description

This course focuses on the tools used to design, build, and manage a web site with Netcat WCM. 

Approach

As this course segment requires experience in the technical side of web development, the ability to work hands on with HTML is recommended.

A knowledge of HTML and XML

Students will study:

Module 1 - Introduction to Netcat WCM.

How Netcat WCM manages content

System architecture

Publishing interface

Server administration

Publishing workflow administration

Students will study:

Module 2 - Practical

Build web pages dynamically

Apply templates and set up style sheets

Create content

Set up navigation

Build site structure

Generate links automatically

Schedule content for publishing

Establish workgroups and configure workflows

Connect the CMS to multiple databases

Set-up multi-layer navigation

Administrators will be able to:

Configure staging websites

Manage version control and compare versions

Manage rollback and reinstate earlier versions

Manage system backups

Understand implementation strategies

Personalize content delivery 

Configure metadata search facilities

Manage interfaces between Netcat WCM and third party systems such as Document Management Systems
