Full user personalisation is available with Netcat WCM. Users and visitors to your sites are able to create a profile of their interests, to ensure they access the right information for them.
Web content can also be classified using flexible metadata. Using a combination of the visitor profile and content classification, Netcat enables authors and administrators to create a personal view or personal navigation. This can take many forms including:
- Specific navigation path
- Special ‘home’ or contents page showing new content that matches the visitor profile
- Search functions that will find content that matches the visitor profile
- Delivery of relevant news or other pages in a ‘highlights’ area
- Relevant scrolling news
- Relevant quick links
- Latest news or information
- Users may create bookmarks (a list of favourite pages)
- Users are identified through their login or through cookies
This personalisation may be created for each individual visitor, or a special home page may be created that displays the special interests of a group of visitors.
An Example

The following features of the page are provided as part of the personalisation functionality:
Page Highlights This is a list of web pages selected from the website, with an image thumbnail, title and short description of each page.
News Highlights
This is a list of news web pages articles.
Useful Links
This is a list of links to relevant internal or external web pages.
Events
This is a list of events that may be of interest to visitors to this page.
Each of these features utilises Netcat’s container and list functionality.
